A leading Insurer based in Essex is looking to bring in a Regulatory Change Director to head up a new regional Regulatory change hub. This role will be responsible for leading and delivering large regulatory change programmes/initiatives across legal entities, managing project teams, contributing to continuous improvement, championing project management and governance principles and regularly report to key stakeholders on project progress.

MUST have experience working in a consultancy - Minimum of 4 years.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and delivery of a project management programme encompassing all details of a project to team members
  • Identifying all internal and external resources required for successful project completion
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects ensuring the overall programme is aligned to
  • Support achievement of strategic and regulatory objectives
  • Oversee and shape estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of a project
  • Manage and mentor resources
  • Act as an internal quality control check for programmes, controlling ongoing quality control and participating in quality issue resolution
  • Oversee project and programme issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline and escalate to senior management as required
  • Advise and oversee project scope and change request process
  • Team Leadership
    • Set realistic and practical goals for projects and develop appropriate strategies
    • Provide coaching and guidance to the team members to ensure they understand tasks fully and act on them efficiently
    • Develop tools and techniques for distributing tasks

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communicator, such as;
    • Ability to initiate, grow and maintain strong relationships at all levels including executive sponsors, business leaders, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders
    • Ability to manage executive and senior staff
    • Skilled in the management of stakeholder expectations
    • Ability to adapt content, style and level of detail of written and verbal communications to fit diverse audiences
  • Critical thinker:
    • Ability to understand, articulate and translate complex business problems to define clear activities in desired solutions
    • Identify problems, performing analysis to determine root causes and provision of workable solutions
  • Delivery focused:
    • Identify and pursue the successful completion of key project products
    • Experience delivering large scale regulatory programmes across legal entities/business lines within time lines and budgets
  • Time Management
  • Technical expertise:
    • Understanding of Project Management methodologies
    • Use of MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Regulations such as SM&CR, MiFID II, EMIR, D/F, Solvency II, IDD, GDPR etc.
