The role of the e-commerce manager includes full responsibility of the net sales and P&L of the European region for a group brand. Given that it is currently the region with the most expected growing net sales of the overall business the role would include to understand further growth opportunities, efficiencies to reduce costs, making sure the website reflects the brand strategy while also understanding market challenges and come up with possible solutions to by pass them. The role includes to be responsible for conveying a consistent brand image that attracts customers by encouraging sales on the Web. The person will raise organizational awareness of emerging market opportunities, customer needs, and the relevant competitive landscape. Key success factors include strategic thinking, market knowledge, deep understanding the main e-commerce kpi's based on which drive and plan actions, data crunching, project management skills to supervise the plan execution and leadership skills in a multi-faceted environment.

Areas of Responsabilities and Related Activities

Net sales and P&L:

    • Full responsibility of the budgeting, net sales results, P&L of the region
    • Reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis
    • Data analysis to understand KPI's and hence what is behind the business results based on which drive decisions
    • Monitoring and coordination with the web marketing team and all the activities allocated to each channel
    • Monitoring and coordination with the operations team to supervise and check operational activities: shipments, returns, payments,etc
  • Regional calendar management
    • Revision and decision maker together with the calendar stakeholders
    • Suggest local needs to seize further opportunities
  • Coordination with the following teams in order to ensure the plan execution:
    • CRM, product, creative teams
    • Project Manager and IT Teams

Website performance:

  • Supervising the website to ensure its performance
  • Continuous testing and participation in testing sessions
  • Supervising costs and P&L drivers:
    • Returns, payments,
    • Finding potential opportunities of cost reduction
  • Business development and websiteoptimization:
    • Finding new growth opportunities for the region, benchmarking, understanding of the landscape we operate in
    • Suggest activities that can improve the overall experience (user experience, content, etc)
  • Brand relationship building, creating a solid relationship with the brand to ensure that:
    • Budget reflects the brand investment allocated and having full alignment on that
    • There are brand activities that can exploit the digital channel and vice-versa
  • Go-to-market alignment, coordination with the physical retail team on:
    • All calendar activities
    • Promotions
  • Coordination with the legal team on all legal matters


  • Extensive experience of direct and digital marketing ideally in a similar industry
  • Strong background in customer acquisition, re-engagement and retention strategies
  • Confident and articulate communicator capable of inspiring strong collaboration in an organization
  • Proven skills in managing complex processes with multiple business owners, making tradeoffs against business
  • Excellent organizational and data analysis skills; ability to derive actionable conclusions from large data
  • A thorough understanding of direct marketing principles
  • Familiarity with SQL, Excel, and data analysis
  • At least 5 years' experience working in digital merchandising, and digital marketing or e- commerce
  • Knowledge of e-commerce business models, specifically how to drive e-commerce sales through innovative, effective and cost-efficient marketing/merchandising programs and strategies
  • Knowledge of the digital ecosystem and how e-commerce, web, mobile, social, search and channels work together to optimize behavior and acquisition
  • An analytical, problem solving and results-driven approach to e-commerce challenges and opportunities
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools
  • Knowledge of online marketing tactics (SEO, SEM, Email)
  • FLUENT in English
