Actuarial - Financial Reporting Manager - Non-Life

Our global Non-life insurance client are actively seeking to appoint a Qualified Actuary as their new Financial Reporting Manager. The successful incumbent will manage a broad variety of areas across the actuarial department. A key remit will be to manage the successful implementation of IFRS17 and additional key reporting projects.

Our global Non-life insurance client are actively seeking to appoint a Qualified Actuary as their new Financial Reporting Manager. The successful incumbent will manage a broad variety of areas across the actuarial department. A key remit will be to manage the successful implementation of IFRS17 and additional key reporting projects.

Engaging with all levels of the business from board, to part qualified actuaries within your own team, you will demonstrate both the technical and professional abilities to lead a strong and commercial function.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on IFRS17 implementation project
  • Co-ordinating and reporting on experience analysis on a regular basis
  • Assumption setting for pricing and reserving including Solvency II
  • Communication of results to Executive Committee, Senior management and shareholders
  • Develop monitoring and risk management structures in underwriting risks
  • Working closely with all members of the actuarial team ensuring consistent communication
  • Liaising and communicating with other departments, particularly Finance, Risk, operations and IT

Key experience and requirements

  • Qualified actuary with at least 5 years market experience and 1-year PQE
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions
  • Ability to apply actuarial techniques to practical business situations
  • Desire to build and maintain internal and external business relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly motivated, inquisitive and adaptable with the ability to identify and introduce new initiatives
  • Prophet modelling experience
  • Experience working within a regulatory framework is desirable
